This mural, a collaboration between Neil Johnston and Ed Charbonneaux, was commissioned by the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, MN to celebrate the school's 75th anniversary. Starting with the words innovation and tradition, this mural evolved from a horizontal depiction of Man according to Vetruvious by Leonardo Di Vinci into an abstraction created by symbolic interpretations of various "centers" of the body. The five central areas according to Neil and Ed consist of the head with the senses, the heart and lungs, the reproductive system, the knee and the foot. Lines and color draw connections between each of these centers showing various relationships within the body.
